Sigrid Scherber
Teacher
Please allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Sigrid “Sina” Scherber and I am delighted to be a new member of the academic team at the German Texan Heritage Society for the 2023/2024 school year.
Born and raised in Germany and learning German and English at a very early age has given me a true appreciation for languages in my life. I came to the United States as a teeneager and have embraced English as my life study language ever since then. During my time at the University, I was able to take advantage of truly exploring the many academic opportunities and have a vast and eclectic background including dance, theater, and art. I graduated with a Bachelors of Art from the University of Central Florida with a French Literature major and German Translation minor interest. My last year at the University, I was awarded a Fellowship to study abroad and spent a full academic year at the University of Angers, France. After I returned to the United States in 1998, I completed my Masters of Education with an interest in Distance Learning and Curriculum Design in 2004. I have been teaching for the past 16 years and feel truly humbled to be a part of the academic journey of GTHS students. I look forward to meeting you and building a strong and successful relationship this year.
