Rita Guihan

I grew up in the small town of Mutzschen, which is between the cities of Leipzig and Dresden in Germany. My parents still live there; my sisters live in the state of  Baden-Wuerttemberg. I have a degree in Hotel Management and worked several years in the Washington, D.C., area. In 2006 I came to Austin where I now live with my husband and twin sons. 

When my children attended their first Samstagsschule, I decided to pass on my German as one of the teachers at GHTS; that was in 2018. Language learning has not been my strong suit, so it is my goal to teach my native language by leaning on its parallels to English.
