Publications
Part of the German-Texan Heritage Society’s mission is accomplished through our wide range of publications. We publish books on German-Texan history and genealogy, a quarterly journal (The Journal), a bimonthly newsletter (Schulhaus Reporter), and a monthly email newsletter for members (E-Kurier). We also put out a monthly email newsletter on Austin activities to our Friends of GTHS.

GTHS Books - includes books on German-Texan history, translations of personal diaries, and genealogical resources.
The Journal - A quarterly journal with over 100 pages of family history, genealogy, and statewide news of German-Texan events. You will find book reviews and articles about our German-Texan culture and history written by GTHS members or taken from other publications and newspapers. GTHS members receive this quarterly publication as one of their membership benefits. Single copies can be purchased by anyone.
Schulhaus Reporter – A bi-monthly printed newsletter, which is now also being sent electronically. It includes original articles, restaurant reviews, information on events and classes, the popular Helga’s Corner column, and a calendar of events. Guild members receive this newsletter as one of their membership benefits.
E-Kurier – A monthly email newsletter with information on German-related events and activities across the state. For GTHS members only.
Friends of GTHS – A monthly email newsletter with information on German-related events and activities in Austin. Membership is not required for this newsletter. Sign up to receive this newsletter here.
