Fundraising – Planned Giving

A special way to support the activities of the German-Texan Heritage Society is to make use of various Plannned Giving strategies. Some examples include:

• Update your Will and leave a gift (i.e., a selected percentage of your estate or a specific dollar amount).
• Change the beneficiary designation on your IRA, 401(k) or life insurance policy to include GTHS.
• Give your home or farm to GTHS, reserving a life estate (as Dr. Kelley Stevens did with the German Free School). You get an income tax deduction and know the charity will benefit at your demise.
• Create a lecture fund to support lectures on German-Texan heritage or send students on a student exchange to Germany.
• Create an endowment to fund the scholarship program.
• Create an endowment to help publish the GTHS Journal.
