Fundraising
As a non-profit organization, the German-Texan Heritage Society is dependent upon individual gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants to supplement our income and keep us on solid financial ground. These gifts allow us to continue to offer many high quality events and programs to our members and the general public.
There are a variety of ways one can support GTHS financially:
Annual Fund- In 2010 GTHS launched the first integrated Annual Fund Drive, replacing the previous Operational Fund Drive. Members can now select among six distinct areas where their donated funds are to be used. These funds are:
- General Operating Fund
- Historic German Free School and Gardens Preservation Fund
- Lot 505 Event Space Development Fund
- Charles Trenckmann Memorial Library and Historical Collections Fund
- Scholarship Fund for High School and College German Studies
- Statewide Community Outreach Fund
150th Anniversary Club - This three-year fundraising program is earmarked for our statewide outreach program, seeding an operating endowment, and funding repairs to our historic headquarters.
Sponsorships – Businesses and individuals are invited to become sponsors for one or more of our events.
Planned Giving – Individuals donors can make provisions to leave money and/or assets to GTHS at his or her death.
