Ron Hunka will speak on “The Bodensee: One of Nature’s Great Gifts,” based on his stays in towns around Lake Constance, which is shared by Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The presentation features slides of some of the towns along the shore of the vast lake, including Bregenz, Lindau, Meersburg, Überlingen, Unteruhldingen, Stein am Rhein and Schaffhausen, and the Island of Reichenau. Hunka, who formerly served as book review editor of the GTHS Journal, has written a number of articles for Renaissance magazine about castles and monasteries in Germany and Austria, including the lake’s Meersburg Castle, the oldest in Germany.
